HISTORICAL DATA:
Since the first days of the year 1919 - when he began the formation of companies of gendarmes in the counties of north - west of Transylvania and the Maramures County, is a company set up by the gendarmes based in Baia Mare, which later in the second half of April, move their headquarters in Satu Mare, a company which participated along with Division II of that fight in north-west of the country, for the issue of territory under German occupation troops.
Also during this period being take another company of gendarmes in the town Sighetu Marmatiei, who noted the discovery of a group of Hungarian intellectuals, led by lawyer Rosie, who collude to attack village Sighet and the Romanian army, back when Horty offensive would be launched. The company also contributed to the collection of arms and other war material remaining in the area issued to collect information related to State security and restore public order.
End of 1919, finds Maramureş company, based in Sighet, part 2 of the Territorial Battalion of the Regiment 7 gendarmes component of the Gendarmerie Brigade IV Cluj.
Years 1929 - 1930 brought new structures, the occurrence, the laws on rural gendarmerie, which led to the establishment, in Baia Mare, a Legion, which was part of the Gendarmerie Inspectorate Cluj IV and the creation of several county departments gendarmes.
With the establishment of the General West, located in Cluj and regional inspectorates, the Legion of Gendarmes Maramureş passes under the Regional Inspectorate of Gendarmes Oradea Mare.
This structure takes up to 01 December 1938, when the High Decree no. 2919 Regional Inspectorate in 1938 Gendarme Oradea is abolished, its formations gendarmes Someş, including the Legion of Maramureş, Inspectorate who will then name Cluj Gendarme Regiment 7.
Autumn of 1940 brings odiously Vienna which led to the evacuation of the territory ceded to Hungary so the Gendarme Legion Maramureş and has resided in the garrison moved to Sighet Făgăraş, returning in the county since the end of the Second World War, in the month July 1945, when the Gendarmerie back in Northern Transylvania.
Thus, the Gendarme Legion Maramureş, now part of the Inspectorate of Gendarmes Oradea, which remains in the structure by early 1949, when the Gendarmerie is abolished, its place being taken by security troops.
In September 1968 being taken Battalion Security Maramureş, independent unit directly subordinate to CCS, with the area of responsibility counties: Maramures, Bistrita Nasaud, Satu Mare and on 01. 11 1968 shall be given to Fight flag with patent no. 2556 30. 12 1968.
In accordance with Order No. CCS president. 01 of 5284. 01 1972, on 01. 01 1972 is abolished Security Battalion 3 - as the unit of the Bands Security, entering into the organizational structure of the Bg. 24 Cluj Security. Battalion was entrusted the responsibility area of Maramures County and Bistrita Nasaud.
Under Order No. MI. 04137 of 01. 09 1975, 3 Battalion Security changes its name to Security Battalion 32. Conform Ordinului MI nr. Under Order No. MI. S/005225 of 01. 08 in 1984, since 01. 09 1984 changes name to Security Battalion 32.
23 09 1977, the Battalion was declared UNIT leading, and at 27. 07 1979 reconfirmed title.
Battalion participated in 22 applications for cooperation with the MI counties Maramures and Bistrita Nasaud and 32 applications for cooperation with sub-units, units and large units M.Ap.N. In all these applications Battalion received qualification VERY WELL.
Battalion participated in ensuring the normal conduct of visits by the country's leadership in areas of responsibility 18 times.
After making known through the television on 22. 12 1989 in around 13.30, has turned what occurred, the unit decides to shift the revolutionary unity and support with the owner.
On 29. 01 in 1990 to change the sign of unity MU 0716 MU Şomcuta Mare Mare 05581 Şomcuta the Territorial Defense Battalion 32 in accordance with The Army General Staff no. S/B.3./127 din 25. S/B.3./127 of 25. 01 1990.
Under the protocol signed between M.Ap.N. from 16. 03 1990, Commander of the Bands with the Territorial Defense units and subunits of subordination, the actual technical-economic indicators and financial, weapons, combat equipment, other supplies and barracks dependinţele associated with belonging to their transfer to M. Ap . N. the MI and the Battalion returns to sign 32 Guard battalion and order.
Based on Government Decision no. 749/05. 07 1990, Command Guard troops and order turns into Bands Gendarme Command, and the battalion Gendarmerie Battalion 32.
Battalion 32 gendarmes have competence in that area of responsibility, Maramures County, performing specific missions, the public together with the police in the city of Baia Mare Sighet cities and Borşa, security and defense of the targets set by GD, security and transport values and training of young soldiers - their mission and meets the present.
In accordance with Order No. MI. I/05550 of 01. 09 1995 in the 15th. 04 1996 Command B 32 J with Cp. 1, CP. 3 Mb. Pl. TRS 2 / 3 Pl. Apr. Tp. moves Şomcuta town of Baia Mare in Mare Street Gendarmery no. 1, which is also present.
Under art. 99 of paragraph 1 of the Romanian Constitution and art. 1 of Law no. 34/1995 on granting Flag Fraud MU and U M. having regard to the proposal of Minister of Interior, President of Romania, decretează (decree no. 524) art. only "flag is given to Combat Battalion 32 Gendarme Baia Mare" 10 October 1997.

According to the order I/01047 MI since 25. 09 enter into force in 1998 the organization of subordinate CJJ Maramureş CJT "Someşul Cluj Napoca.
Most important mission which was attended by 1989, gendarmes Maramureş:
restoring public order and in the town Săpânţa -1992;
restoring public order and in Barsana village quickly, Borşa 1994 and 1998;
prohibition of entry in Baia Mare 500 demonstrated at Borşa EM;
ensuring public order in all the major cultural and sporting events in Baia Mare and the county.
